At first glance, Booktree looks like a quirky house in a garden. But walk through the open wooden doorway, and you’re immediately surrounded by shelves of books in multiple languages, low-hanging greenery, quiet corners, and the gentle hum of nature.
It doesn’t feel like a business. It feels like someone opened up their personal library and invited you in for tea.
The air smells of old pages and freshly brewed Thai coffee. There are hammocks under the trees, little play areas for kids, and even board games for families to enjoy. We ended up staying for hours longer than we planned m and we weren’t the only ones. Everyone there looked like they’d found something worth slowing down for.
📖 Borrow, Buy, or Just Browse
What truly sets this place apart is the library. It’s not just a stack of books for show you’re welcome to borrow them for free (up to 30 days), or purchase a second hand read for just around 100 baht. There’s something heartwarming about a space that values books as much as it does coffee.
If you’re travelling long term like we are, this place is a gift. Georgia found books she loved, and it gave us a quiet space a rare find when you’re on the road.
☕ Coffee, Cakes, and Thai Comfort Food
Don’t be fooled by the homey vibe the coffee here is genuinely excellent. Ali ordered a frappe and I grabbed a latte!
Everything was affordable, homemade, and delicious nothing felt mass produced.
🧸 Family-Friendly, Kid Approved
From hammocks and foosball tables to a shaded kids’ corner, this café is actually family friendly not just a place where kids are tolerated. Dotty was happy exploring the toys, and Georgia found a quiet corner with books and puzzles. We didn’t feel rushed, side eyed, or out of place, which is more than I can say for some other spots.

Booktree Library & Café isn’t just a stop for food or caffeine. It’s a pause. A moment to breathe. A chance to reconnect with something slower, softer, and real.
