Our family’s adventure to Malta started with a picturesque scene at St. Paul’s Bay, a beautiful introduction to the island’s charm. Arriving in early November, we were greeted by pleasant mid-20s weather, perfect for beach outings and leisurely explorations.

A Warm Welcome at St. Paul’s Bay

Our journey began with settling into a cosy seaside accommodation and a delicious taste of Maltese cuisine, which set the tone for our culinary experiences throughout the trip. The sandy shores of St. Paul’s Bay offered the first of many serene settings where we unwound and embraced the joy of our holiday.

Our adventure continued on the 4th of November as we ventured into the ancient capital, Valletta. The city greeted us with its grandeur, evident from the World Heritage inscription at the entrance. Our walk took us to St. John’s Co-Cathedral, an architectural marvel, where Ali donned a shawl to respect the sacred site. The cathedral’s intricate interior and solemn atmosphere were a profound experience for the whole family.

Later, we explored the old military fort, where Georgia ran around the cannons and old courtyards, fully immersed in the historical tales of bravery and strategy. On the 5th, we travelled to the quaint town of Mġarr, spending a perfect day under the clear blue skies on swings overlooking the sea, capturing stunning photographs of the shimmering waters. Georgia and Ali even took a dip, enjoying the surprisingly warm November weather, making for a perfect beach day. Our exploration deepened as we took a ferry to Gozo on the 6th.

In Xagħra, we marveled at the Ġgantija Temples, one of the oldest freestanding structures in the world, providing a tangible connection to the Neolithic inhabitants of the island.
